Reactive oxygen species (ROS) attack sperm in multiple ways: They reduce sperm viability through membrane damage [9] They cause DNA fragmentation [4] They make oocyte-sperm fusion less effective [9] They trigger lipid peroxidation in sperm cellular membranes [9] Selenium helps curb these threats by becoming part of selenoproteins that neutralise free radicals
These substances must not be used in humans or animals, or for any diagnostic or clinical application
